HISTORY

What is known about Jack is that he is the soul survivor of the 13 wars/classes of Amityville; a place set aside for those who are removed from the cycle of rebirth. Amityville is broken up into four districts; North, South, East, and West. The four are constantly fighting about territory and who's the best. Jack is from the North District which is the smallest of the four. The districts are based on a 'high school' setting with teachers and students, but all the districts combined are equal to a country in the world of the living.

When people die in Amityville, it means a final death. No rebirth, no being revived. That's why when a 'mirror image' comes along, everyone wants them. A 'mirror image' is a person that has died in the world of the living and is reborn into Amityville as an immortal. Not much else is known about what a 'mirror image' is, but Jack has stated in the manga about granting wishes, being a portal to the world of the living, or something along the lines (though I'm sure even he doesn't understand how to 'use' her). The 13 wars correspond with the past 13 mirror-images.

People around the districts state that Jack is the North Districts leader Helmina's 'Dog', doing her bidding for her. But Jack kills for the pleasure of killing and does things based on what he wants to do, not what her or anyone wants. None the less, Helmina knows secrets about Jack that only she knows and tends to easily convince Jack to do her bidding, not to mention that she's a bit sadist herself.

PERSONALITY

Jack is a very sinister and dark character, killing people while always wearing some sort of smile. It's evident that he finds pleasure in blood and murdering whoever gets in his way, but he oddly never makes the first move. He will gladly instigate it, not that he has to often after people learn about who he is. From beginning to the end of any fight, Jack seems to take on a completely different personality; he becomes animalistic.

Aside for his love for blood, Jack loves women: rather their bodies, boobs and asses in particular. He can be generally very touchy-feely when he can get the chance, with permission or not.

Jack is a cocky, sex and blood craved man in his late teens, early to mid twenties (as we can only assume by appearance and by the why people call him an 'upper classmen' and because time seems to move a lot differently in Amityville). Jack towers over people in height and that's the way he likes it. He likes to be in control other people's emotions, especially fear. Intimidating people is like a game to him. Jack can be calm and collected under the right circumstances but generally likes to tease people for some sort of reaction. The man has no filter to what he says and calls them how he sees it -- no shit's or fuck's are cared.

ABILITIES

Jack's fighting style is a bit different than most of the people in Amityville. Instead of carrying guns, swords, or any other physical type of weapon, he uses blades that resemble Scythes that protrude from his elbows as well as his hands and fingers at times. The more he fights, the more his power increases and the more insane he becomes. When Jack is provoked enough (or when someone is trying to take over his mind), it causes his form to shift and practically becomes a demon. I almost think this is quite possibly Jack's true form.

Jack is always seen to be wearing a long and torn trench coat. The coat, called the "Devil's Thread", is supposedly the source of Jack's power. I can only assume it is the blades because in later volumes of the series, the bottom and ripped edges of the coat turn into blades. But whether it gives him the blades or his unnatural healing abilities, is unknown.

Jack, just like everyone in Amityville, can die. Though Jack seems to be able to take heavy amounts of damage, including a full on blade through his head, healing fast compared to most from his world. He claims that he is 'unable to die' because of his survival through the wars, but it is evident that it is only possible for the 'mirror image' to be the immortal one.

PLEASE NOTE

Because of lack of information and the manhwa being released at such a slow pace (as well as YenPress being very cruel about Scanlations...), the way I use and play Jack's 'powers' and the way they have been shown with the Devil's Thread in recent volumes clash just a bit. Instead of them coming from the coat (which I assume is where they come from but because it is so unclear, I can choose), Jack's blades form from his skin. His coat only increases his power rather than giving him the power. Until the Manhwa changes that fact or can make things more clear, that is how I will play him.
